One of the many perks of attending convention is the programming! Convention workshops and sisterhood events help us to rejuvenate our sisterhood while educating ourselves about the various issues we are all encountering (or those we may encounter in the near future). As we are headed in a new direction as a membership, it is important that our workshops help us lay the groundwork for future years of professionalism, unity, and leadership.
Sisters can customize their schedules by mixing and matching events specifically relevant to your developmental needs and goals. Visit the Schedule-At-A-Glance page for additional workshop information. A full convention schedule will be provided at convention registration.

Hate Me For Who I Am, Not For Who I Love: The Consequences of Coming Out
Presenter: Ivettelis Perez
This forum will help participants identify with the pain, frustrations, and consequences of coming out as an LGBT member in the community through discussions of discrimination and hate crimes. The context of these discussions will be used to generate ideas on educating the organization about LGBT issues on our campus and communities.

Nutrition and Fitness:  Getting Fit The Right Way
Presenter: Jeanelle Folkes
Do you know what your Basal Metabolic Rate is?  Come find out what most people don't know about the science of losing weight and toning the body using proper diet, nutrition, and fitness.

The Recruitment Workshop
Presenter: Mekea Harvey and Dara Monasch
The workshop will provide an overview of the Sorority’s recruitment and intake process and provide information on how to incorporate a value-based, dynamic recruitment approach to your chapter’s recruitment and intake.

Creating a Syllabus for Life After College
Presenter: Tonya Walton
“What’s next?” is a question commonly asked by upperclassmen and recent graduates. Whether you are a rising junior or budding professional, this program will help you assess where you are, want to be and how to come into your own after college.

Credit Cards: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Presenter: Rhaema Friday
Credit cards are shoved in our faces from our teenage years as magical pieces of plastic that you can use to buy whatever your heart desires. Credit cards and a line of credit are actually essential for most people, but can also be a deadly weapon that can ruin your life if not handled properly. This work shop will teach you the essentials of credit cards - why you need them, how you should use them, and how to avoid their deadly pitfalls.

Which Way Do I Go? Navigating Your Way a Graduate School Search
Presenters: LaToya Eaves and Tonya Walton
