The Theta Nu Xi National Convention is the annual meeting of Sorority members (the National Organization). It is held each year during the first weekend after Labor Day. Convention is an opportunity for the National Organization to conduct important Sorority business, recognize accomplishments, engage in learning and leadership opportunities, and connect with a diverse sisterhood network. Convention 2009 will be held at the Renaissance Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
The first convention took place ten years ago on August 21, 1999 at our founding location – the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill – four months after the incorporation of the Sorority. Less than twenty sorority members were present, including Founding Monarchs and Incorporators (at that time, the Alpha Chapter and the Beta and Gamma Colonies). Since then, Convention has evolved each year along with the changing dynamics of our Sorority and membership. As we approach 1,000 members and over 40 chapters and colonies, this convention will truly be an important milestone in the development of our sorority.
